FUFA President Moses Magogo delivered a passionate address to the Uganda Cranes squad after their final training session at Mandela National Stadium, urging the players to rise to the occasion in their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Guinea.
Speaking to the team in the dressing room, Magogo emphasized the importance of unity, discipline, and resilience, encouraging the players to fight for victory and lift the spirits of Ugandans.
“The people off the pitch want to see the team winning. We believe our team and players are the best. Go out and fight, give it your very best. If you win, everyone will be happy,” Magogo told the squad.
With Uganda coming off a disappointing 3-1 loss to Mozambique, Magogo reminded the players of the emotional and professional impact of their performances.
“When you go back to your clubs after back-to-back losses, the energy and morale is low. We need to avoid that. Go out there and win so that everyone is happy,” he added.
The Cranes head into today’s game against Guinea knowing that a victory will be crucial in keeping their World Cup qualification hopes alive.
The players will be looking to channel Magogo’s words into a strong performance at Namboole, where home support is expected to be electric.
