Quarterfinal Lineup Unveiled for Wakiso Zone Girls Basketball

The Wakiso Zone Basketball Qualifiers, a thrilling showcase of talent and determination, tipped off on March 20, 2025, at Elite High School and Bethel High School.

Over two action-packed days, these venues hosted more than 20 boys’ and girls’ basketball teams vying for victory on three classic courts.

In the girls’ category, 19 teams were grouped into four pools.

After intense group stage matches, eight teams emerged as quarterfinalists, securing their places in the national championship set for May at Bukedea Comprehensive School.

Among the contenders are notable powerhouses such as hosts Elite High School, reigning zonal champions St Noa, and national champions St Mary’s Kitende.

With their deep experience and skill, they are anticipated to deliver an electrifying performance, though the competition remains fierce with all teams showing resilience and ambition.

Here are the highly anticipated quarterfinal fixtures:

  • St Noa Girls vs Kisubi Mapeera
  • Zzana Mixed vs Gayaza High School
  • Buddo SS vs Exodus College
  • St Mary’s Kitende vs Elite High School

The journey to the quarterfinals was marked by standout performances. St Noa Girls topped Group A, while Gayaza High School followed in second place. Group B saw Zzana Mixed SS emerge as leaders, with Kisubi Mapeera claiming the runners-up spot.

Buddo SS and hosts Elite High School dominated Group C, while Group D was led by St Mary’s Kitende and Exodus College as the top two teams.

As excitement builds, fans eagerly await further announcements regarding the dates for the quarterfinals and semifinals.

The Wakiso Zonal Ball Games 1 Qualifiers will culminate on April 12, 2025, at the WAKISSHA Resource Center, with the basketball finals scheduled to be a highlight of the day.
