The Wakiso Zone Basketball Qualifiers, a thrilling showcase of talent and determination, tipped off on March 20, 2025, at Elite High School and Bethel High School.
Over two action-packed days, these venues hosted more than 20 boys’ and girls’ basketball teams vying for victory on three classic courts.
In the girls’ category, 19 teams were grouped into four pools.
After intense group stage matches, eight teams emerged as quarterfinalists, securing their places in the national championship set for May at Bukedea Comprehensive School.
Among the contenders are notable powerhouses such as hosts Elite High School, reigning zonal champions St Noa, and national champions St Mary’s Kitende.
With their deep experience and skill, they are anticipated to deliver an electrifying performance, though the competition remains fierce with all teams showing resilience and ambition.
