The maximum points a team can collect from a single match in the Uganda Rugby Premiership is five — four for a win, plus one bonus point for scoring three tries more than their opponent.
As it stands currently, eighth-placed Toyota Buffaloes (with 22 points) are too far to be caught by ninth-placed Warriors (with 11 points) behind them.
This means that teams have already booked their tickets to the Premiership Playoffs and Relegation Playoffs with one round to spare in the regular season.
The top eight of Stanbic Black Pirates, KCB KOBs, Jinja Hippos, Platinum Credit Heathens, Rhinos, Victoria Sharks, Walukuba Barbarians and Buffaloes will progress to the Premiership Playoffs. This will begin at the quarterfinal stage.
Then the bottom four of Warriors, Plascon Mongers, Kampani Eagles and Elgon Wolves will fight for survival in the Relegation Playoffs. This will begin at the semifinal stage.
However, the end of the regular season is only just the halfway point of the tournament. More critically in 2025, there is still a great deal to play for during the final round of the regular season.
Round Eleven this Saturday will sort the teams’ final positions on the table and confirm their opponents for the playoffs.
Full Round Eleven Fixtures:
• Abel Dhaira Memorial: Walukuba v Sharks
• Mbale: Elgon Wolves v Buffaloes
• Legends: Rhinos v Pirates
• Damwaters: Hippos v KOBs
• Kyadondo: Heathens v Eagles
• Entebbe: Mongers v Warriors
All matches will kick off at 4 p.m. local time (EAT).
On the table, only three teams — Heathens in fourth, Warriors in ninth and Elgon Wolves in twelfth — have no chance whatsoever of gaining places. This means that Hippos, Buffaloes and Eagles have a safety net below them.

While the above-mentioned teams already know whether they will have up/downward movement on the table, for the rest of the Premiership, anything is possible.
And that’s what will make Round Eleven an entertaining circus!
