Women’s Golf Gets a Boost as POA Series Recognizes Top Amateur Ladies

The Pearl of Africa (POA) Golf Series is set to elevate women’s golf in Uganda by formally recognizing the top amateur ladies at the upcoming Entebbe leg.

This, according to the organisers, underscores the tournament’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and providing female golfers with the recognition they deserve on a competitive stage.

With women’s golf steadily growing in Uganda, the POA Series is ensuring that female players are celebrated for their talent and contribution to the sport.

The top-performing amateur ladies at the Entebbe leg will be acknowledged for their achievements, further encouraging more women to take up the game and compete at a higher level.

“The POA Golf Series is not just about competition—it’s about growth and inclusivity,” said Juliet Anena, Founder of the series.

“Recognizing top amateur ladies is a step toward ensuring women’s golf gets the attention and opportunities it deserves. We want to inspire more women to take on the sport, knowing their efforts will be appreciated and rewarded.”

The Entebbe leg, running from April 2 to April 5, will feature professional and amateur golfers, a Junior Challenge, and a highly anticipated 19th-hole experience with sponsor activations and entertainment.
