Lillian Nakirya Shines as February’s Finance Trust Women Elite League MVP

St. Noa Girls Football Club captain and goalkeeper Lillian Nakirya has been named the Finance Trust Women Elite League Player of the Month for February 2025.

Nakirya’s stellar performances have been a key factor in her team’s dominance this season, with the shot-stopper yet to concede a single goal in the ongoing 2024/25 campaign.

Her consistency between the posts also earned her a national team call-up for Uganda’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2026 qualifiers.

She edged out her teammate Babirye Esther and Asubo Ladies’ Namboozo Zinah to claim the monthly honor.

In the coaching category, Asubo Ladies’ Kamya Swaleh was named Coach of the Month, overcoming competition from St. Noa’s Kintu Mwera and Highway Ladies’ Butolo Shaban.

Meanwhile, in the top-tier Finance Trust Women’s Super League, Olila High’s Dorcus Lwalisa was crowned Player of the Month, while Kampala Queens’ Asefa Firew Hailegebreal took home the Coach of the Month award.
