Since its inception in 2022, the Naguru Social Sports School has impacted over 280 children and indirectly benefited more than 700 family members and community members.

With the program entering its third cycle, the new agreement will allow further expansion and ensure more children receive opportunities to grow both physically and mentally while learning essential values like solidarity, teamwork, and respect.

Fundación Xcalibur will spearhead the on-ground implementation of the project, utilizing funds provided by I&M Bank to cover operational costs.

Real Madrid Foundation will oversee the application of its coaching methodology, providing training and monitoring to ensure program success. Additionally, I&M Bank will play a pivotal role in supporting the initiative’s growth, allowing it to reach more communities in need.

The collaboration has also addressed key challenges, such as menstrual hygiene awareness, workshops, and mental health support, which have contributed to improved interpersonal relationships and reduced anxiety among participating children. Girls have especially benefited from targeted programs, ensuring their active participation in sports.

Executive Director of Fundación Xcalibur, Javier Lezcano, expressed pride in the alliance, saying, “Having influential partners in the sporting and financial sectors is an honor and demonstrates the power of cooperation in international development.”

I&M Bank CEO Robin Bairstow echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the long-term impact on underserved communities: “This partnership is about supporting the next generation and providing opportunities for education, growth, and inclusion.”

Julio González Ronco, Managing Director of Real Madrid Foundation, highlighted the positive impact of the program: “This alliance allows us to reach even more children in need, offering them a safe space where they can enjoy sports while shaping their futures.”
