Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has firmly ruled out the possibility of Bruno Fernandes leaving the club this summer, amid speculation linking the midfielder with a move to Real Madrid.
Fernandes, who extended his contract until 2027 last August, has been United’s standout player this season and remains an integral part of Amorim’s plans.
Speaking ahead of United’s Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest, Amorim addressed the rumors, stating, “No, it’s not going to happen. He’s not going anywhere because I’ve already told him.”
Fernandes has enjoyed a stellar season, scoring 16 goals in all competitions, including a hat-trick in the Europa League last-16 win over Real Sociedad.
His 31 combined goals and assists in the Premier League are surpassed only by Mohamed Salah (54) and Erling Haaland (33).
Despite United’s struggles this season—they currently sit 13th in the league table—Amorim praised Fernandes’ leadership and unwavering commitment to the team, even in challenging moments.
“Bruno’s frustration at times shows how badly he wants this. That’s the kind of player we want,” said Amorim.
