Former Premier League star Dietmar Hamann has called on Arsenal to secure the services of German winger Leroy Sane, who is set to leave Bayern Munich as a free agent this summer.
As speculation intensifies around Sane’s future, Hamann emphasized that a performance-based contract could unlock his potential, comparing the player to none other than Lionel Messi.
The Bayern star, entering the final months of his contract at Allianz Arena, has faced criticism for inconsistent performances.
Hamann, however, believes Arsenal could be the ideal environment for Sane to thrive. He dismissed concerns about the player’s body language, drawing a parallel to Messi’s demeanor, which some misconstrue as indifferent.
“Leroy Sane’s consistency has been a challenge at Bayern Munich, but with a performance-based contract, Arsenal would have a brilliant player on their hands,” Hamann said in an interview with PokerScout.
He backed Sane’s character, arguing that his inconsistency at Bayern doesn’t mean he won’t shine elsewhere.
As Bayern target both the Bundesliga and Champions League titles, Sane remains focused on finishing the season with silverware under Vincent Kompany’s leadership.
