Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC have appointed Jackson Kaddu Magera as interim head coach until the end of the season, following the dismissal of Abdallah Mubiru after a disappointing run of results.
Magera, who previously served as Mubiru’s second assistant, now takes over the reins at a critical time in the club’s campaign.
The decision to sack Abdallah Mubiru and promote Magera comes just days after KCCA’s crushing 4-0 defeat to Kitara; a loss that is the club’s worst league result since April 2015.
Mubiru had earlier described Kitara as a “small team,” making the loss even more painful for fans and management alike.
Magera’s appointment is seen as a move toward continuity, given his familiarity with the club’s structure and playing staff.
Currently sixth on the Uganda Premier League table with 34 points from 22 games, KCCA has struggled to find consistency this season, registering nine wins, seven draws, and six losses.
Magera will step into the spotlight for the first time as head coach when the Kasasiro host BUL at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo on Saturday, April 12.
