Mukono Zone chairperson Richard Muhumuza has called for the selection of the best teams to represent the region at this year’s USSSA National Championships, emphasizing the need to uphold the zone’s strong record.
“We were the best zone last year and must maintain it,” Muhumuza stated during the draws held at Yale High School, which will host the 2025 USSSA Zonal Qualifiers for Mukono Zone.
“How do we maintain it? By selecting the very best teams and clean ones,” he added.
The qualifiers will officially begin on Friday April 11, 2025, and will be played across two venues—Namagabi Secondary School and Hopeful Future. However, the event officially runs from April 10 to April 13.
The national championships are scheduled for May 4–14, 2025.
In the girls’ football draw, defending champions Namagabi SS were placed in Group A alongside Kanyumira Public, Lugazi Homestone, Mukono High School, and hosts Yale High School.
Last year’s finalists Latifah Mixed SS were placed in Group B, which also includes Ndeeba SS, Springfield SS Kawongo, Merryhill, and Hopeful Future.
