Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has committed his future to Liverpool, signing a new two-year contract that will keep him at Anfield until the summer of 2027.
The 32-year-old’s decision ends months of speculation linking him with a move to Saudi Arabia and addresses doubts about his potential departure after his previous deal was set to expire this summer.
Salah, who has scored an impressive 243 goals and provided 109 assists in 393 appearances for the Reds, expressed his excitement about continuing his journey at the club.
“I’m very excited—we have a great team now,” said Salah. “I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football.”
The forward has been instrumental this season, netting 32 goals across all competitions, including 27 in the Premier League, as Liverpool closes in on their 20th league title.
With seven games remaining, the Reds hold an 11-point lead over second-placed Arsenal.
Since joining Liverpool from Roma in 2017, Salah has enjoyed a glittering career, helping the club secure the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.
Reflecting on his tenure, he said, “I have played eight years here, hopefully it’s going to be 10. I have had the best years of my career here.”
Salah’s contract renewal comes as Liverpool faces uncertainty regarding two other key players: Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk. While van Dijk has hinted at progress in discussions over a new deal, Alexander-Arnold has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.
