Denny maintained consistency throughout the competition, surpassing 70 metres with all six throws.

His series included marks of 71.03m, 73.46m (a personal best in round two), 72.93m, 71.14m, and 73.56m. USA’s Sam Mattis secured second place with 70.08m, narrowly ahead of Germany’s Mika Sosna.

In the women’s event, Alida van Daalen of the Netherlands claimed victory with a 65.11m throw.

Denny is set to compete again in Ramona on Sunday, facing reigning world record-holder Alekna, while two-time Olympic champion Valarie Allman headlines the women’s field.
