URA tightened their grip on the Uganda Premier League’s top four with a narrow 1-0 victory over Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC at the Hamz Stadium Nakivubo on Wednesday evening.
Innocent Kisolo’s 80th-minute strike was the difference in a tightly contested match, helping URA to their fourth straight win and lifting them to 42 points, one behind third placed BUL.
KCCA are seventh on 34 points, with their season taking a further hit with just six matches left in the season.
The match started cautiously, with both sides opting for disciplined defensive structures and few clear-cut chances.
KCCA, desperate to rebound from back-to-back defeats, looked sharper early on, but URA gradually grew into the game, dominating the second half.
The Kasasiro Boys’ poor away form against URA continued, having now failed to pick up a point in their last six visits.
Interim head coach Jackson Magera has now lost two games on the bounce as he endures a nightmare start to his second stint at the club’s helm.
