Ronaldo to Extend Al-Nassr Stay with Eyes on 2026 World Cup

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly committed his future to Al-Nassr by agreeing to a two-year contract extension, setting the stage for his ambitions of representing Portugal at the 2026 World Cup.

The 40-year-old football icon’s current deal with the Saudi Pro League side was set to expire this summer, but the new agreement ensures he’ll remain in Riyadh through to at least 2026.

The extension, with the second year dependent on performance and preference, is said to include a lucrative package worth up to €200 million annually.

In addition to his base salary, the deal encompasses ambassadorial roles and commercial ventures, further solidifying Ronaldo’s influence within Saudi football and beyond.

Recent reports have even linked him to potential involvement in La Liga’s Valencia project, adding an intriguing dimension to his off-field contributions.

Since joining Al-Nassr in late 2022, Ronaldo has been instrumental in shaping the team’s competitive vision.

January’s signing of Jhon Duran marked a move toward building a stronger squad as the club continues its pursuit of Saudi Pro League and AFC Champions League titles.

Ronaldo’s dream of playing in the 2026 World Cup, hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, remains a focal point of his career.

With an astonishing tally of 934 professional goals, the Portuguese star is poised to chase the elusive milestone of 1,000 goals if his current scoring rate continues.
