Sacred Heart Secondary School delivered a commanding performance to defeat their long-standing rivals Gulu High School 4-0 in a one-sided encounter in the Acholo Zone girls semi finals that saw all goals come in the second half.
The emphatic win underlined their dominance and secured them a spot among the top contenders of the Acholi zone girls’ football tournament.
In another tightly contested match, Restore Leadership School edged Koro Secondary School with a narrow 1-0 win.
The match was marked by intense and electrifying play from both sides, but Restore Leadership managed to hold on for a crucial victory that kept their campaign alive.
Meanwhile, the boys’ semifinals saw Lagwai Seed School edge Kitgum Comprehensive School 1-0 to earn a place in the finals. Bishop Angelo Negri SS also advanced after a convincing 2-0 win over St. Mary’s Lacor.
With the tournament reaching its final stages, the top four girls’ teams have already booked their tickets to represent the Acholi zone at the National Ball Games I championship set to take place in Bukedea.
The top three boys’ teams will travel to Ngora for the National Boys’ Football Championship.
