FUFA Overhauls Management Training to Align with Continental Ambitions

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has announced a comprehensive restructuring of its Football Administration and Management Course (FAMACO) in a move aimed at strengthening professional standards within the sport’s governance.

According to a statement released by the federation, the revised course structure features a three-level format tailored to equip football stakeholders with targeted skills at different stages of professional development.

The restructuring aligns with FUFA’s broader vision of becoming Africa’s leading football nation by promoting effective and modern football management.

Level 1 of the new structure is a three-day foundational course totaling 24 hours. It will cover principles of football administration, governance, and basic management practices.

This entry-level course will be offered twice a year, in the first and third quarters.

Level 2 is a five-day advanced course spanning 40 hours, with a focus on financial management, marketing, competition management, and ethics.

It is also scheduled to be conducted biannually in Q1 and Q3.

Level 3, the most intensive of the three, is a three-month comprehensive programme consisting of 400 hours of instruction.

It is designed for aspiring leaders and will delve into strategic planning, organizational development, and advanced management techniques. This level will be offered once every two years.

FUFA emphasized that the redesigned structure is intended to better serve the evolving needs of Uganda’s football ecosystem.

“This restructuring provides targeted training at each professional development stage, equipping stakeholders to contribute to the FUFA vision,” the federation stated in a statement.

The courses are open to a wide range of football stakeholders, including administrators, officials, referees, and coaches.

Details regarding course content, application processes, and dates are expected to be released in the near future.
