Real Sociedad announced today that coach Imanol Alguacil will depart at the end of the season after more than six years in charge.
Appointed in December 2018, the Spaniard led the club to Copa del Rey glory in 2020 and the Champions League last 16 in 2024.
His contract expires this summer, with Sociedad currently ninth in LaLiga, four points outside European places with five games left.
“Imanol Alguacil has informed Real Sociedad of his decision not to continue managing the team next season,” the club stated, while urging a final push for European qualification.
Sociedad host Athletic Bilbao in a Basque derby on May 4th in Alguacil’s final weeks at the helm.
