Newcastle Manager Howe Returns to Work After Pneumonia

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has returned to his duties at the club’s training ground after recovering from a bout of pneumonia that saw him hospitalized earlier this month.

The 47-year-old was diagnosed with the illness after feeling unwell for several days and was admitted to hospital late on April 11th.

His absence meant he missed three Premier League matches, with assistant manager Jason Tindall and coach Graeme Jones stepping in to lead the team.

Newcastle displayed strong form under the temporary leadership, securing a notable 4-1 victory over Manchester United and a resounding 5-0 win against Crystal Palace.

Their only setback during Howe’s absence was a 4-1 defeat to Aston Villa.

The club took to X, formerly Twitter, to thank supporters for their “warm wishes” for Howe during his recovery.

Howe’s return comes at a crucial time for Newcastle, who currently sit fifth in the Premier League table and occupy the final Champions League qualification spot.

Their next fixture is a home game against Ipswich at St James’ Park on Saturday.
