Rock Boom Becomes Official Energy Drink Partner of Uganda Rugby

Hariss International Limited, the producers of Rock Boom energy drink, have entered into a three-year partnership with the Uganda Rugby Union (URU) worth in the region of UGX 1 billion.

The deal, officially unveiled on Thursday April 24, 2025, at Harris International’s headquarters in Mpererwe Tula, establishes Rock Boom as the official energy drink partner of Ugandan rugby.

The sponsorship is set to energize all tiers of the game, from grassroots initiatives to the national teams.

Beneficiaries of the partnership include the Rugby Cranes and Lady Cranes, as well as key domestic competitions such as the Nile Special Rugby Premiership (both men’s and women’s), the Uganda Cup, and the National 7s Series.

“This partnership is going to help rugby sport grow from grassroots to clubs and the national union through organizing competitions which will benefit players,” said Isaac Lutwama Nsubuga, CEO of the Uganda Rugby Union. He described the collaboration as a “game changer” for the sport in the country.

Samuel Hooper, Head of Marketing at Hariss International, emphasized the brand’s alignment with rugby’s core values.

“Rock Boom is all about energy, power, and performance—values that align perfectly with the spirit of rugby,” Hooper said.

The partnership is expected to play a pivotal role in the development of rugby in Uganda over the next three years, injecting fresh momentum into the sport’s competitive landscape.
