Uganda’s Minister of Education and Sports and First Lady, Janet Museveni, has congratulated Joshua Cheptegei and Sarah Chelangat following their victories at the TCS World 10K Bengaluru 2025.
In a message shared on her official X (formerly Twitter) account, Mrs. Museveni praised the two athletes for their perseverance and impact on Uganda’s youth.
“We glorify God for your victories, @joshuacheptege1 and @SarahChelangat8, in Bengaluru. Your perseverance inspires generations and uplifts Uganda. We celebrate the hope and greatness you bring to our youth. May the Lord bless you further,” she posted.
Cheptegei secured the men’s international elite title with a provisional time of 27 minutes and 53 seconds, while Chelangat won the women’s international elite race, clocking 31 minutes and 7 seconds.
Their performances continued Uganda’s strong tradition of distance running excellence on the global stage.
