Mutebi Joins KCB Rally Team, Eyes Pearl of Africa Glory with New Machine

Former national rally champion Nasser Mutebi has signed with the KCB Rally Team, setting the stage for an action packed 2025 Pearl of Africa Rally Championship campaign.

The announcement was made on Tuesday April 29 at a press briefing held at the KCB Bank Uganda headquarters at Lohana Towers along Lugogo Bypass.

KCB Bank Uganda unveiled a substantial UGX 167 million sponsorship package, solidifying Mutebi’s position within the formidable team.

He will be joining fellow Ugandan drivers Michael George Mukula Jr. and Oscar Ntambi, alongside Kenyan rally aces Karan Patel and Nahkil Sachania, creating a powerful multinational lineup.

Mutebi, visibly enthusiastic about the new partnership, expressed his confidence for the upcoming championship.

“This time I’m coming with a stronger car, a Mitsubishi Evo 10, not the Evo 9 I’ve used before,” he stated.

“I believe we’ll give our best and hopefully bring the trophy home. I promise to fly the KCB flag high in the competition.”

Edgar Byamah, the Managing Director of KCB Bank Uganda, highlighted the bank’s dedication to fostering sports development within the nation.

“This rally isn’t just about racing,” Byamah emphasized. “It’s about determination, talent, and showing strength.”

Mutebi’s addition to the KCB Rally Team is anticipated to inject significant excitement into the Pearl of Africa Rally, with fans eager to see the former champion behind the wheel of his upgraded Mitsubishi Evo 10.
