Tensions flared at Wembley Stadium as Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois faced off to promote their July 19th rematch for the undisputed heavyweight title.
Dubois shoved the champion, leading Usyk to remark it showed “weakness.”
Despite acknowledging Dubois’ improvement and IBF title win since his ninth-round stoppage victory in their August 2023 fight, Usyk questioned his opponent’s mental strength.
Dubois defended his actions as a sign of a “new me” ready for the “fight game.”
Their previous bout was marked by controversy over a low blow ruling. Dubois, who felt “pain and frustration” from that loss, aims to “put the demons to bed” with a knockout in the rematch.
The pre-fight physicality has amplified the anticipation for their Wembley showdown.
