Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has been appointed the second Vice-President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), a move announced during CAF boss Dr. Patrice Motsepe’s visit to Ghana on Saturday.
A surprised but “humbled” Okraku, who was recently elected unopposed to the CAF Executive Committee, vowed to dedicate himself to elevating African football.
“This is an opportunity I’ve embraced… I will do my utmost best in our desire to make football truly African and truly global,” he told Asempa FM.
To fully concentrate on his GFA and CAF duties, Okraku has stepped down as WAFU B President.
He sees “massive potential” for growth in African football, citing reorganized competitions and increased investment.
“We need to support Dr. Motsepe to finish what he has started,” Okraku affirmed.
