Juventus legend Alessio Tacchinardi has heavily criticized recently sacked coach Thiago Motta for his handling of midfielder Douglas Luiz, labeling the Brazilian’s season a “disaster.”
Tacchinardi claimed Motta failed to connect with and motivate Luiz, citing an instance where Motta admitted to not speaking with the player despite his good training attitude.
Luiz, a big-money summer signing, has struggled for game time, making only six starts.
Tacchinardi highlighted Motta’s lack of support after Luiz’s errors, stating it “chilled my blood.”
He questioned why Luiz was consistently benched, suggesting a complete breakdown in their professional relationship.
Reports indicate Luiz wasn’t the only player to clash with Motta.
Despite a contract until 2029, Juventus are reportedly open to selling Luiz for around €40 million, with Premier League clubs like Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United showing interest.
