Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi and midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu received one-match bans, and Inter (€70,000) and AC Milan (€30,000) were fined by the FIGC for their relationships with “ultra” fan groups.
The sanctions follow the arrest of 19 “ultras” last September with suspected mafia ties.
Inzaghi will miss Inter’s Saturday match against Verona, as will Calhanoglu.
The FIGC cited dealings with unauthorized groups like Inter’s “Curva Nord” and Milan’s “Curva Sud.” Gazzetta dello Sport reported plea bargains preceded the punishments.
Calhanoglu (€30,000) and Inzaghi (€15,000) were also fined individually, along with Inter VP Javier Zanetti (€14,500).
