In a highly anticipated Uganda Premier League encounter under the floodlights at Hamz Stadium, traditional giants URA and Sports Club Villa battled to a thrilling one-all draw on Wednesday evening.
The evenly contested match saw both sides find the back of the net, ultimately sharing the points in front of a lively crowd.
URA drew first blood in the 12th minute when Laban Tibiita expertly slotted home, sending the tax collectors’ faithful into jubilation.
However, the Jogoos, were determined to claw their way back into the game. Their persistence paid off in the 73rd minute when Simon Kato Ssemayange found the equalizer.
The draw sees URA maintain their fourth place position on the league table, now with 43 points from 26 matches played. Meanwhile, Villa remain in seventh place with 38 points, also from 26 outings.
In other Uganda Premier League action played on Wednesday, Kitara and Wakiso Giants played out a goalless draw.
NEC secured a 2-1 away victory against Mbarara City, while Maroons edged past Mbale Heroes with a narrow 1-0 win.
In another match of the day, Express managed to secure a 1-0 victory over Bright Stars.
