2025 USSSA Boys Football Championship Draws Confirmed

The stage is set for the 2025 USSSA National Boys Football Championship, scheduled to kick off on May 4 at Ngora High School in Ngora District.

Sixty-four teams have been drawn into 16 groups of four, setting the pace for one of the biggest secondary school football tournaments in Uganda.

The draw ceremony, held ahead of the tournament, featured special guests including former school football stars Mustapha Kiiza and Sandra Nabweteme, who helped conduct the proceedings.

The pair, both alumni of Kakungulu Memorial School and Kawempe Muslim SS respectively, now stand as examples of the potential school football holds.

Defending champions St Julian High School will begin their title defense in Group A alongside Lakeside SS Masese, Galama Secondary School, and Labira Girls Secondary School.

Other notable contenders include traditional powerhouses like St Mary’s Kitende, Buddo SS, Kibuli SS, and Standard High Zzana.

Each team will play three group stage matches, with the top two from each group expected to advance to the knockout stages.

The tournament, organized by the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA), continues to serve as a critical pipeline for national football development, often revealing the next stars of Ugandan football.
