FUFA Competitions Director Hajati Aisha Nalule has confirmed the match regulations for the semi-finals of the 51st Stanbic Uganda Cup, emphasizing that no extra time will be played if teams are tied after two legs.
“If teams are tied by goals at the end of the return leg match, the away goals rule shall apply and if teams are still tied, spot kicks shall be applied to determine the winner. There shall be no extra time,” Nalule clarified.
The semi-finals begin with Vipers hosting Kitara on Saturday, 3rd May 2025 at St Mary’s Stadium, followed by KCCA welcoming Kataka on Sunday, 4th May 2025. Return legs will be played on the 17th and 18th May.
This year’s edition began with 369 clubs, and the competition has showcased the strength of teams across all tiers.
Kitara reached the semi-finals after a narrow 1-0 win over BUL in a tense quarter-final, while Kataka stunned both URA and Police on penalties in their Cinderella run.
The grand final is set for Kadiba Stadium, marking its debut as a major competition venue.
