Bugerere has confirmed the appointment of Coach Lukyamuzi Godfrey, also known as Skills, as head coach for the upcoming 2025 Masaza Cup tournament.
He will be assisted by Coach Sadiq Sempigi as the team intensifies preparations in pursuit of their first title in the competition’s history.
Coach Lukyamuzi brings a wealth of experience to the role, having undertaken his coaching studies in Germany.
He notably guided Buddu to the 2020 Masaza Cup final, where they were defeated 3-1 by Gomba.
Domestically, Lukyamuzi previously coached NEC, leading them from the Buganda Regional League to the Uganda Premier League. He currently serves as head coach of Kiyinda Boys in the FUFA Big League.
Joining him is assistant coach Sadiq Sempigi, who currently heads Onduparaka FC. Last season, he was part of the coaching staff for Buwekula Ssaza team, adding valuable Masaza Cup experience to Bugerere’s technical bench.
The appointments come as Bugerere seeks to break their title drought in the prestigious tournament. The 2024 edition was won by Buddu, who edged Kyaggwe 1-0 in a tightly contested final.
To bolster their campaign, Bugerere has also unveiled its organizing committee, led by Eng. Kanyike George William as Chairman.
He will be deputized by Kalangwa Fred (Vice Chairman), while the technical affairs will be overseen by Bisaso Godfrey. Other members include Andrew Ssekitto (Manager), Lwetute David (CEO), Kasirye Faizo (Media Officer), Bogere Ismael (Security Officer), Namata Immaculate (Treasurer), and Bukirwa Specioza (Team Doctor).
The new leadership is expected to coordinate team preparations and mobilize resources ahead of what promises to be a highly competitive 2025 Masaza Cup campaign.
