IGP Cup: Buikwe, Agago, Kaliro Seal Regional Dominance

The race for regional supremacy in the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Football Tournament intensified over the weekend, with several teams securing crucial victories and booking their places in the next phase of the competition.

Kween Central Police Station (CPS) secured the Sipi Police Region slot, while Jinja Road CPS emerged top for Kampala Metropolitan East.

In Busoga North, Kaliro CPS took control, and Rubirizi CPS clinched qualification for Greater Bushenyi Policing Region.

Further north, Agago CPS earned their spot for the Aswa Police Region, as Buikwe CPS rose to the occasion to represent Sezibwa Region.

The pitch action was equally gripping. Counter-Terrorism FC edged Forensics Police FC with a narrow 1-0 victory at Kyambogo Playground, while Buikwe Police registered another 1-0 win, this time over Kayunga CPS.

Agago CPS and Kitgum CPS could not find the back of the net in their stalemate, sharing the spoils in a goalless draw.

Meanwhile, Pader CPS delivered a standout performance with a dominant 3-0 victory against Lamwo CPS. The clash between Logistics & Engineering Directorate and Crime Intelligence FC ended in a 1-1 draw.

In the Elgon Region, goals flowed freely as Mbale City FC overpowered Manafa CPS 4-2 in a six-goal thriller. Nansana CPS wrapped up the weekend fixtures with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Kakiri CPS.
