Uganda’s national women’s football head coach, Sheryl Botes, along with instructors Sharon Kizza and Majidah Nantanda, are participating in the CAF Women’s Instructors Development Programme currently underway in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the initiative aims to empower female technical educators across Africa by equipping them with modern coaching methodologies and instructional skills.
The programme is designed to raise the standards of women’s football on the continent through intensive training sessions, practical workshops, and expert-led mentorship.
Coach Botes, who oversees Uganda’s senior women’s national team, is joined by Kizza and Nantanda—both experienced figures in women’s football development.
Their participation is expected to bolster their capacity as coach educators, positioning them to train and inspire the next generation of Ugandan female footballers and coaches.
The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) welcomed the opportunity, describing it as a key step in its long-term vision to build a strong foundation for women’s football in the country.
