Black Pearls and Platinum Credit Heathens have won their second Cup Finals on the 2025 Nile Special Uganda Rugby 7s Series.
This was after beating Nile Rapids and Pirates respectively during the Buffaloes 7s.
It was scoreless for fourteen minutes of the women’s final. In extra time, Lydia Namabiro scored a sudden death try for Black Pearls to break Nile Rapids’ hearts.
Black Pearls received UGX 1 million from Nile Special and UGX 2 million from MTN MoMo as prize money kitties.
Overall series champions Thunderbirds settled for the bronze medal.

The men’s final was a smash-and-grab by Heathens whose Aaron Ofoyrwoth and Walter Otim scored two quick tries against Pirates in the first half. With one other Denis Etwau try, they held on for a 17-10 victory.
Similarly, Heathens received UGX 1 million from Nile Special and UGX 2 million from MTN MoMo as prize money. Overall series champions Walukuba Barbarians settled for fifth place.
