Thunderbirds and Walukuba Barbarians Rugby Club await their crowning moment as the 2025 Nile Special Uganda Rugby 7s Series. This follows confirmation of the permutations on Day One at Buffaloes 7s indicating they are too far ahead in series points earned to be caught by any of their opponents.
Thunderbirds only needed to show up for the tournament to claim the women’s title while the men’s champions Walukuba were helped by Buffaloes’ failure to qualify for the Main Cup knockout round.
Both Thunderbirds and Walukuba are first-time champions of the national 7s series; joining a small group of past winners.
