Record Masaza Cup champions Gomba have officially unveiled Felix Ssekabuuza as their head coach ahead of the 2026 Buganda Kingdom-organized tournament.
The appointment ends weeks of speculation linking the tactician with a return to the five-time winners. A native of Gomba, Ssekabuuza arrives with a proven track record, having guided Buweekula to their historic maiden Masaza Cup triumph in 2025 and a third-place finish in 2024.
He will lead a refreshed technical bench that includes Davis Nnono as assistant coach, Kizito Alex as first assistant, Lule Reagan as goalkeeping coach, Ndugga Lawrence as trainer, and Ssebweye Alex as performance analyst.
The backroom staff further features Nyanja Joseph (statistician), Amanya Nicholas (kits manager), and a medical team headed by Dr. Oscar Mutebire with support from Ddingiro Julius. Off the pitch, Kasenge Ivan has been named camp manager, deputized by Kagimu Ronnie.
Ssekabuuza’s résumé extends beyond Masaza football. He previously worked with Ssingo under Shafiq Bisaso, coached Busiro, and made headlines in 2024 by steering St Julian High School to their maiden USSSA National Boys crown.
More recently, he led non-league side Football Classroom to the Uganda Cup Round of 32, narrowly bowing out to Onduparaka FC on penalties.
Gomba, who last lifted the Masaza Cup in 2020, endured a disappointing 2025 campaign after failing to progress past the group stage. With Ssekabuuza’s winning pedigree and a strengthened technical team, the record champions are banking on a revival as they chase a sixth crown in 2026.
