Martin O’Neill will remain Celtic manager after steering the club to a Premiership and Scottish Cup double last season. The 74-year-old agreed a one-year deal, with an option for a second, following talks with Dermot Desmond.
O’Neill returned in October after Brendan Rodgers’ exit, left briefly for Wilfried Nancy’s short spell, then came back in January to finish the campaign.
He delivered a final-day title win over Hearts and a Hampden cup triumph against Dunfermline, taking his Celtic trophy tally to nine.
Across 35 games, O’Neill won 27 and matched his points-per-game average from his first tenure. Celtic now face the Champions League play-off round, aiming to avoid last year’s slip into the Europa League.
