England boss Thomas Tuchel says concerns over the newly laid turf in Tampa will not affect his plans for Saturday’s friendly against New Zealand. He intends to field two different teams across each half to give all 27 players equal minutes.
Captain Harry Kane, fresh from a 61‑goal season at Bayern, has impressed Tuchel with his sharpness and leadership in training. While Ollie Watkins and Ivan Toney are available, Tuchel admitted Kane remains central to England’s attack.
England continue their camp in Florida before facing Costa Rica on 10 June, then open their World Cup campaign against Croatia on 17 June in Dallas. Tuchel confirmed fringe players still have a chance to force their way into the starting XI.
