Wolves have dismissed head coach Rob Edwards after just seven months, following relegation from the Premier League. The 43‑year‑old, a former Wolves player, managed only five wins in 30 matches as the club finished bottom.
Despite technical director Matt Jackson insisting last month that the hierarchy was united behind Edwards, the decision was made to part ways. Portuguese coach Cesar Peixoto, who led Gil Vicente to sixth in the Primeira Liga, is already linked with the vacancy.
Edwards had helped secure early Championship signings, including Kieran Trippier and Raul Jimenez, but admitted recently: “We’re the worst team in the league. That’s the bottom line.”
