BUL FC has confirmed the departure of several senior players ahead of the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season, with attacking midfielder Jeromy Kirya, left-back Nicholas Mwere and striker Karim Ndugwa among the biggest names leaving the club following the expiration of their contracts.
The trio headline a list of ten players who will not be retained as the Jinja-based side embarks on a major squad restructuring process aimed at building a younger and more competitive team for the future.
Kirya departs after establishing himself as one of BUL’s key creative players, while Ndugwa leaves having been a regular attacking threat for the Eastern Giants.
Mwere’s exit also marks the end of an important chapter, with the experienced defender having been a dependable presence on the left side of the backline.
Also leaving the club are Ibrahim Orit, Fredrick Ngalo, Bakali Magumda, Viane Sekajugo, Thomas Ochungo, Julius Barasa and Isaac Wagoina, among others, as BUL FC begins a new cycle under its long-term development strategy.
In a statement, the club said: “Following a thorough end-of-season review, the club confirms that all players whose contracts have expired this summer will not be renewed ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
“Over ten players whose agreements came to an end will move on as we begin a new cycle.
“This decision is part of our long-term vision to refresh the squad, invest in emerging talent from our development structures, and build a team ready to compete at the highest level in the Uganda Premier League.”
The departures signal the start of a significant rebuilding project at BUL FC, with the club expected to announce new signings and promotions from its development ranks in the coming weeks as preparations for the new season gather momentum.
