Hussein Mbalangu has emerged as one of the most sought after coaching options ahead of the new Uganda Premier League season after parting ways with URA.
The club and the experienced tactician ended their working relationship shortly after the conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign, closing a short spell in which he was brought in mid season to stabilise results and steer the Tax Collectors away from relegation trouble.
Since his departure, attention has quickly shifted to his next move, with newly promoted side Ntugasaze FC now understood to be leading the race for his signature as they shape plans for their debut top flight campaign.
Ntugasaze FC are believed to view Mbalangu’s experience as key to building a competitive squad capable of surviving in the Uganda Premier League, especially given his track record of handling pressure situations at multiple clubs.
At the same time, UPDF are also reportedly monitoring developments closely, keeping him on their shortlist as they assess options for the technical bench ahead of the new season.
Mbalangu remains one of the more experienced coaches on the local circuit, with previous spells at several Ugandan clubs and success abroad, a profile that continues to make him an attractive option for teams looking for immediate stability and leadership.
