“We are immensely proud of your achievements,” Ochaya declared. “Your dedication, hard work, and talent have brought immense honor to the Uganda Police Force and the entire nation. You have raised the bar, and we are inspired by your accomplishments.”

Ochaya singled out ASP Joshua Cheptegei who won gold in the men’s 10,000 metre race and, IP Peruth Chemutai who won silver in the women’s 3000 metre steeplechase for their outstanding contributions.

Police also celebrated other officers who took part in the games. The group included ASP Chesang Stella, IP Chelanganti Mercyline, PC Kiptrotich Martin Magengo, and PC Kiplangat Victor.

Ochaya also announced that the police leadership is organizing a grand gala to celebrate sports within the force adding that the event details will be revealed soon.

The gala will feature awards for both individual and group achievements.

“We want to honor these athletes in every way possible and continue to celebrate their success as a source of pride for the Uganda Police Force,” Ochaya emphasized.

The welcome dinner was attended by high-ranking police officers, including directors and heads of departments, as well as key figures from the sports industry.
