Buganda Kingdom and FUFA Forge Strong Partnership

The Buganda Kingdom and the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) have reaffirmed their deep-rooted partnership, with a focus on preserving and promoting the rich history of football in Uganda.

In a high-level meeting at the Buganda Kingdom headquarters, Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga welcomed a FUFA delegation led by Communications Director Ahmed Hussein for strategic discussions on the shared legacy of the two institutions.

Representing FUFA President Moses Magogo, Hussein presented Katikkiro Mayiga with an official FUFA Competitions match ball and a comprehensive booklet detailing FUFA’s achievements since 2013.

Katikkiro Mayiga emphasized the pivotal role of Buganda Kingdom in the development of Ugandan football, dating back to 1924 when the then Kabaka, Daudi Chwa II, served as the first FUFA President.

He commended the strides made by the current FUFA administration under Magogo, expressing optimism for the continued growth of the sport.

“The discussion of Ugandan football cannot be complete without acknowledging the immense contribution of Buganda Kingdom,” Mayiga stated.

“The structures laid down by our forefathers continue to be relevant in the modern game.”

Hussein echoed Mayiga’s sentiments, highlighting the mutual benefits of the partnership.

“The strong bond between FUFA and Buganda Kingdom is a cornerstone of Ugandan football,” he said.

“This visit has provided an opportunity to exchange ideas and strengthen our collaboration.”

Both parties expressed their commitment to working together to elevate the sport to new heights.
