City Oilers will take on South African side Cape Town in the East Division Basketball Africa League Qualifiers Elite 16 semi finals.
This was confirmed on Thursday after the 8-time National Basketball League defending champions defeated Ferroviario Beira of Mozambique 88-72 in their final group B game to finish top of the pile.
Just like in the opening two games, Oilers were fast out of the blocks and took the first quarter 23-17.
They maintained the six-point lead by halftime with the scoreboard reading 42-36. It was in the third that Oilers ran away with the game before eventually winning it 88-72.
Oiler had five players in double figures in terms of scoring with Narnaba Ngor, Jones Falando and Germaine Roeburg each scoring 17 while James Okello and Fayed Baale managed 10, each.
Oilers who had defeated COSPN and Metro Magic earlier, end the group stage with three wins from as many games.
City Oilers will qualify for the 2023 BAL tournament, in Rwanda, with victory over Cape Town on Saturday.
The other semi final will be between Ferroviario and Urunani of Burundi who topped group A.
