Uganda Cranes Coach Milutin Sredojevic alias Micho has this afternoon announced a 35 Provisional man squad to participate in the 2023 CHAN tournament.
KCCA FC and Vipers SC who are currently on the Uganda Premier League title race took the most slots with the Venoms having eleven players summoned and KCCA FC five.
However, players like Nelson Senkatuka, Fred Amaku, Yunus Sentamu, Alex Kitata who are currently top scorers in the ongoing Uganda Premier League were not part of the squad summoned for the tournament.

The 2023 CHAN tournament kicks off on 13th January to 4th February 2023 in Algeria. This is the 6th time Uganda Cranes is taking part in the tournament. The Cranes were potted in group C against DR. Congo, Ivory Coast and Senegal.
Uganda will play its first game on the 14th of January 2023 against DR. Congo who won the 2016 title.
