The Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom (BKK) Clan Football Tournament and Amasaza Bicycle Racing Competition, sponsored by MTN Uganda, commenced on November 15th with a vibrant opening ceremony held at Masindi Booma Grounds.

The event was graced by Alex Katusabe, the BKK Chief Administrative Secretary, who expressed gratitude to MTN Uganda for their continued support.

“We appreciate MTN Uganda for their unwavering support,” Katusabe said. “Their sponsorship helps promote not only sports but also the cultural values that bind us together as a community.”

The Amasaza Bicycle Race saw enthusiastic participation from cyclists across Masindi Municipality, Buruli, and Bujenje counties.

The top five finishers in each category advanced to the next stage and were rewarded with cash prizes.

In the football tournament, the Abahinda, Abafumambogo, Abakwonga, and Abairuntu clans clashed in a knockout format.

Abafumambogo emerged as the dominant clan, securing their place in the next round.

The opening ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including representatives from MTN, BKK, local government officials, and religious leaders.

The event celebrated the spirit of unity and sportsmanship within the kingdom.
The tournament and race will continue on Friday November 22nd in Kiryandongo District.
