Hamz Stadium, a historic venue in Ugandan football, is set to play a crucial role in the upcoming African Cup of Nations U17 CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers.
The tournament, scheduled to take place from December 14th to 27th, 2024, will see key matches and the final hosted at this iconic stadium.
Hamz Stadium, previously known as Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium, is currently the home ground for two top-flight Ugandan clubs, Express and URA.

The tournament’s opening day will see two exciting clashes at Hamz Stadium. Ethiopia will face Burundi at 2 PM, followed by a highly anticipated match between Uganda’s young Cubs and their Tanzanian counterparts at 5 PM.
The final and the third-place playoff will also be held at Hamz Stadium on December 27th, culminating the tournament with a thrilling finale.
St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende, home to Vipers, will be the other venue used during the group stages of the competition.
