She Corporate Football Club’s Aminah Nakato on Wednesday celebrated a significant off-field achievement: her graduation from Makerere University Business School (MUBS).
The talented defender, who has enjoyed an inspirational career earned her Bachelor’s Degree in International Business.
Nakato’s journey to this point is a remarkable story of perseverance and determination.
Her love for football blossomed at St. Joseph’s Bombo in 2011 while in Primary Five. Excelling in a local tournament, she made a pivotal decision: to prioritize football over her budding musical talents.
This decision led to a sports bursary to Kibuli SS, setting the stage for her rise in the world of Ugandan football.
Her club career took off with Luweero Giant Queens in 2017 before she joined She Corporate FC in 2018. As a key member of the team, Nakato played a crucial role in their success, contributing significantly to their triumphs in the FUFA Women’s Super League (2021/2022), the FUFA Women Elite League (2023/24), and the Uganda Women’s Cup (2023/24).
Despite her demanding football schedule, Nakato remained committed to her education.
After completing her A-Levels in 2019, she enrolled at MUBS in 2020, pursuing a degree in International Business.
Balancing rigorous training sessions, matches, and travel with academic demands was undoubtedly challenging, but Nakato’s dedication and discipline ensured her success both on and off the field.
In a tweet her club She Corporate congratulated her saying, “We’re thrilled to celebrate our star defender’s incredible achievement. Earning a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business from MUBS while dominating on the pitch is no small feat. Congratulations Aminah Nakato, you’re an inspiration to us all.”
