Manchester United winger Antony is on the verge of joining Spanish La Liga club Real Betis on loan for the rest of the season, according to reports.
The 24-year-old has struggled to live up to expectations since arriving at Old Trafford from Ajax in an £82 million deal in 2022.
He has only scored five goals in the Premier League and has been out of favor under manager Ruben Amorim, starting just two games since his appointment in November.
Manchester United are understood to be keen to offload Antony on loan in order to give him more playing time and improve his form.
Real Betis have emerged as the frontrunners for his signature, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claiming that the final details of the loan deal are now being negotiated.
Antony is said to be keen on the move to Spain and Manchester United have reportedly agreed to cover a portion of his salary while he is on loan at Betis.
The Brazilian will return to United at the end of the season, when his future will be reassessed.
This move comes as a surprise to some, as Antony’s agent, Junior Pedroso, had previously claimed that his client was not looking to leave Manchester United.
However, it seems that the club has had a change of heart and is now willing to sanction a loan deal.
The loan move to Real Betis could be a good opportunity for Antony to get his career back on track.
