Lionel Messi scored as Inter Miami bounced back from their CONCACAF Champions Cup disappointment with a dominant 4-1 victory over the New York Red Bulls on Saturday.
Fafa Picault opened the scoring for Miami in the ninth minute, followed by Marcelo Weigandt in the 30th after a VAR review.
Luis Suarez added a third before halftime, though Omar Valencia pulled one back for the Red Bulls. Messi sealed the win in the 67th minute after a slick one-two.
The victory lifts Inter Miami to fourth in the Eastern Conference.
Elsewhere, the Columbus Crew lead the East after a 4-2 win over Charlotte, while Philadelphia Union edged Montreal 2-1, and D.C. United defeated Colorado Rapids 2-1.
