Gaddafi’s UPL Return Gets Boost with New-Look Technical Team

By Daniel Muwonge

Gaddafi’s full technical team that will steer the club through its highly anticipated return to the Uganda Premier League has been revealed confirming the addition of two respected names—Godfrey “Jjaja Walu” Walusimbi and Livingstone Mbabazi—to Abdallah Mubiru’s coaching setup.

The duo join as assistant coaches, bringing a wealth of experience and tactical depth to what is now shaping up to be one of the most intriguing backroom teams in the league.

Walusimbi, a former Uganda Cranes captain and one of the most decorated left-backs in the country’s football history, steps into a top-flight coaching role.

Known for his intelligence on and off the ball during his playing days, “Jjaja Walu” is expected to play a key role in shaping Gaddafi’s defensive structure and nurturing young talent.

He’s joined by Livingstone Mbabazi, a seasoned tactician in his own right, with previous stints at Onduparaka, Arua Hill, Vipers, Mbarara City and the Uganda Cranes.

The technical team is rounded off with Swaib Ssebagala as goalkeeping coach and Edward Ssali, better known in football circles as “Biano,” taking charge of fitness and conditioning.

The club is now fully focused on preseason preparations as they target a strong start in the Uganda Premier League.
