National badminton coach William Kabindi, in an exclusive interview with Munira Bux for NBS Sport on Friday morning , unveiled the team’s preparations for the All Africa Games scheduled to take place in Accra, Ghana from the 8th to 23rd of March. Kabindi revealed that the team has been intensively training since their return from Egypt after the Thomas and Uber Team Games earlier this month. The training sessions have been held at Mbogo High School, and according to Kabindi, the team is in excellent shape and anticipating the competition.

The team consists of a mix of talented athletes, including Lubega Muzafar, Amos Muyanja, Justus Owiny, and Expedito Emudu for the men’s category, and Husnah Kobugabe, Gladys Mbabazi, Fadhilah Shamika, and Naluwoza Tracy for the women’s category. Despite facing tough competition in Egypt, Kabindi emphasized that they are not overestimating or underestimating any country in the upcoming games. He stressed the importance of participation in the tournament, highlighting that it is an Olympic qualifying event. Missing this opportunity would mean they wouldn’t be able to send any athletes to the Olympics.

He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to perform well and secure a spot for Uganda in the prestigious Olympic Games. With their dedication and rigorous training regimen, Kabindi believes they are well-prepared to face the challenges ahead and make their country proud on the international stage.
